Whew, that was a huge disappointment!
T and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds’ End today. If you haven’t seen it, be prepared for a really crappy ending. The movie wasn’t that bad until the end. I HATED THE ENDING! Gah…I’m not even sure I want it on DVD to round out my collection. (This is my very own personal opinion and not connected to anyone in any shape or form.)
Other than that it was a great day. We had fabulous parking at Bridgeport Village (no small feat in itself). We lunched at the California Pizza Kitchen where I had a totally scrumpcious focaccia sandwich with grilled chicken and rosemary and cesare dressing. I couldn’t eat it all, half of it went back. I then had a small nosh of handmade Belgian Chocolates. Oh my. I picked up the new copy of “Adorn” Magazine, I totally love it and there is a bag I’m so going to create as soon as the sock is finished.
The whole afternoon fit into my incredible shrinking budget! Matinee performance and “lunch portion” prices and then just two small pieces of really fabulous chocolate to finish it off. I refuse to give up my “lifestyle” due to budget constraints, I’ve just toned it down ALOT! I’ve learned to live with matinee performances, getting the lunch portion for 1/2 price, or buying just one small piece of something instead of a lot of them. I also use coupons like there is no tomorrow! I get coupons for everything under the sun and am not ashamed to use them at all.
I do think I’m going to subscribe to Adorn though. It’s only 12.00 a year for the whole year which is not bad.
It’s turned into a rather warm day here. The poor fur babies were miserable so we turned on the a/c for them. I hate seeing them miserable like that. Needless to say every blind is lowered and every curtain is drawn. It may just be a state of mind but darker is cooler!
I had hoped to finish my sock today, but stuff got in the way. I’m going to knit on it tonight and try to get it finished. I found a killer short row tutorial (thanks Lana) over at Kaity’s.
I’m going to toss some stitches on a needle and practice it step by step on her tutorial…I’m bound and determined to get that bloody heel right!!!!! I just know that the minute I master it, it will be super easy and super clear and I will sit here and want to pound my head on the table for being so dense the whole while over it.
After cooling off and knitting a bit, I’m going to do some blog reading and see what everyone has been up to today. I hope lots of fun and interesting things. I’m avoiding mopping the kitchen floor later tonight. Like Lana, I only do things when the cooler temps are around!

What a great day!!! We are having thunderstorms again. BLAH!!!!
We HATED Pirates too. It looked like 7 writers all did their own thing and the producer just threw the scripts up in the air and filmed it in the order that they fell.
We probably WILL end up buying that crappy thing just to round out our collection, but will wait until it hits the bargain bin.
