Lustful dreams in the afternoon.

No, get your mind out of the gutter!  I’m referring to the “summer edition” of Knit Picks..that just arrived in my mailbox today.

As usual, it’s full of fun and lovely yarns.  I’m seriously lusting after some killer sock yarn that is featured.  Everything I have ever gotten from them was absolutely fabulous to knit with. I’ve got my eye on some Gloss and Memories and I’m still dying to get the sampler box of Palette!  All those colors and me with only two feet!  Sigh…there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get all the socks knitted that I have in mind.

And bless whomever came up with it, but the entire center of the catalot is nothing but pure “short-row” bliss and how to achieve the state of bliss.  Yes, I hate short rows and they hate me.  I will conquer them, I will, I will, I will!

So, please excuse me, I’m off to have dinner, lust after some more yarn and figure out how much money I need to put aside for yarn. Luckily, everything Knit Picks does…is reasonably priced.  How they do that is beyond me…I swear they probably grow their own in the back of a warehouse or something?

Something else for my knits list!

The new Magknits came out today! Yippee! I have to admit, this is one of my very favorite knitzines. The very first thing I ever knitted came from this knitzine…it was the “sophie” bag. I had just mastered the knit stitch and didn’t know that knitting in the round and felting were not a “super beginner” thing…so I knitted a purse in the round and felted it!

Anyway, there is a great pattern for a “grocers bag”. I’ve been on a no plastic bag kick for a bit now, I might start getting them just so I can knit this! I adore it!

And I simply must knit this!!!! It’s called Diamond Girl and I love, love, love the pattern. I had to laugh because the designer mentioned it would be perfect for a cruise. After working on a cruise ship…I think not! But, I can think of a million places to wear it to instead.

Knitting for the not so bland.

Yep, the new issue of The AntiCraft was released today. I love this knitzine.  They offer the “not so usual” fare for knitting.  Their issues reflect a more natural calendar as opposed to the everyday version. I love to read their articles and admire their outlook on life.  They definitely take it as it goes in their own direction.  Go take a peek!
