A teeny bit of knitting.
Okay, so I got almost no knitting done today. I worked a bit on my sock. I spent the better part of my day just folding and sorting clothes. I just don’t get it, I don’t have that many clothes. Must be because I’m short of space to store them in.
Once I finish my sock, I might start a new one. Socks are totally fun and easy to work on and carry about with me. I’m just not into “big knits” lately, must be the summer kicking in.
I’m very excited about the wardrobe refashion that is upcoming in a few weeks. I’m going to spend the next couple of weeks taking stock of what I have and trying to figure out what I can make into other stuff. I know I want to add sleeves to my capsleeve polos. I hate capsleeves, they suck. Unfortunately, they are the only thing on the recent onslaught of polos that are being offered. I might also make a new knitting bag for myself, just for summer. I also have T-shirts that could be used for something? Who knows? I will have to scour the internet for inspiration and ideas. Oh darn, hours and hours spent online searching for craft ideas, how bad life is going to be for me! Hehehe
I have a huge stash of sarongs so that is a huge source of material for stuff. I did see a cool thing to do for turning jeans into a skirt back in an old issue of a knitting magazine. Once I master that elusive crochet technique, I might attempt it and see how it goes.
I’m just not too into skirts unless they are very long ones! My legs are just not short skirt material, plain and simple! LOL! As for now, it’s time to start collecting craft ideas and inspiration….June is fast approaching!
Still alive and kicking….
I’ve just been horribly busy lately. I have decided to do the Wardrobe Refashion Challenge. I took it on because it will force me to get off my duff and get cracking on some sewing. Mainly, it will make me dig out my sewing area! I’ve been meaning to do that for weeks now and keep putting it off and putting it off. Shame on me!
So, tomorrow morning, I’m spending the entire morning/afternoon/evening (if need be) cleaning up my sewing area and getting it rearranged. I want to switch out my dresser and my sewing table. Just that small move involves moving quite a bit of stuff around. Hopefully with moving my yarn to another wall in the bedroom opened up some much need inches on my craft wall! Yes, I deal in inches not feet when it comes to floor space. My bedroom holds quite a bit and is not the largest of rooms.
I’m kind of curious to see what I get up to with the whole challenge thing? I don’t have alot of clothes to begin with, so it will be interesting to see what i can come up with from my stash and the clothes I have? I am wanting to make a pair of pants since I have never mastered the whole pants thing? Most of my sewing has been for the home or accessories. I do have a few plans for a few bags and some t-shirt re-do’s. I also want to figure out how to add sleeves to my polos. We have entered the “season of no sleeves” for some reason? Hello, some people still want sleeves on their shirts, not caps a fabric that hang there like left over bits that someone forgot to chop off!
I also have a new “knitting” bag idea. I’ve had it hanging around for a bit now and think it will be the first project I work on once I start this whole thing. I did give myself two weeks to get organized and get set up to start on it. It’s kind of exciting. I have always loved sewing.
